We are looking for a Key Worker to join our wonderful team.
Are you an Early Childhood Professional looking for a change?
We are close-knit team situated in the gorgeous community of Parkes & Forbes in the Central West, NSW. We pride ourselves in offering a high quality, multidisciplinary allied health service to the community and we are looking for someone special to join our team.
We are looking for a Key Worker to join our team. Someone who loves helping people and working closely with a Speech Pathologist, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, Allied Health assistants and Counsellor.
Our Key Workers work closely with kids aged 0-7yrs at their school, preschool, at their home or in our clinic rooms.
What exactly does a Key Worker do?
A Key Worker is the bridge between families and therapists, linking up our talented and oh-so-in-demand paediatric Speechies, OTs & Physio’s with kids who need them the most. Think of a Key Worker as the overarching support therapist for a child and their family, who will coordinate required therapies, reports and diagnoses.
Our Key Workers will visit a child and their family in their home environment. Our Key Workers will collaborate with families to collate all relevant information regarding the child and their health profile (past inputs, reports, diagnosis). Our Key Workers will also conduct in home assessments.
From there, our Key Workers have amazing access to our team of experienced therapists, and will consult and case conference with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists about each child to form a holistic and comprehensive care plan based on the inputs from these key therapists. Often these therapists will join the Key Worker to complete further assessments with the child and families. As well as coordinate reports, and care plans, the Key Worker will directly implement therapy programs with the child.
The benefits of this system?
Consistency with ONE regular therapist (instead of having several different people and trying to remember all the different appointments!).
A Key Worker can build a fabulous relationship with the child and family.
A Key worker can really advocate for that child, knowing everything that is going on their lives and their needs.
A Key worker can start to really help the child achieve their goals, with the support from our team & their own knowledge base.

Meet Suzie
Suzie is a Key Worker within our Kerin Health team. Below, Suzie shares her experience of making the shift from Educator to Key Worker.
I am excited to share my experience about my remarkable journey from being a dedicated educator for two decades to becoming a Key Worker at Kerin Health. This transition has been a life-changing experience, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity it has provided me.
For 20 years, I dedicated myself to the field of education, nurturing the minds of countless students. It was a fulfilling career that allowed me to make a positive impact on young lives. However, as life often takes unexpected turns, circumstances led me to explore a different path. This is where Kerin Health entered my life.
Joining Kerin Health as a Key Worker was a decision that I initially approached with a mix of excitement and apprehension. Stepping out of my comfort zone after two decades in the education sector was not easy. However, it turned out to be one of the most rewarding decisions I have ever made.
Kerin Health is not just an organisation; it is a family united by a shared commitment to improving the lives of those in need. As a Key Worker, I have been given the incredible opportunity to directly impact the development and well-being of individuals in our community. The sense of purpose and fulfillment I experience every day is unlike anything I have felt before.
The transition from teaching to key worker required learning new skills and adapting to a different environment, but Kerin Health provided the support and resources necessary for my success. The training and mentorship I received were invaluable, and I felt welcomed into a supportive, flexible community that truly cares about the growth and development of its employees.
What struck me the most was how my years of teaching experience were not wasted but rather enhanced my abilities as a Key Worker. The patience, empathy, and communication skills I honed in the classroom proved to be essential in my new role. I found myself able to connect with clients and their families on a deeper level, providing not only educational assistance but also emotional support.
I am grateful for the trust that Kerin Health has placed in me and for the chance to embark on this new chapter in my career. It has given me a renewed sense of purpose and I look forward to continuing to grow and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
My journey from teaching for 20 years to becoming a Key Worker at Kerin Health has been a transformative experience. It has reaffirmed my belief in the power of change and adaptation. I encourage anyone considering a career shift to seize the opportunity, embrace the unknown, and discover the incredible rewards that lie on the other side. Kerin Health has not only provided me with a fulfilling career but also a second family, and for that, I am forever grateful.
